Jim Babcock, CFA, CPA has written extensive notes about the history and theory of classical music and opera, many of which are featured on this website, Classical Music and Opera for Non-Dummies. His passion for classical music and opera began more than 30 years ago when, after seeing the Oscar winning film Amadeus (1984), he subscribed to the old TIME LIFE series of Vinyl records of the great classical composers. Since then he has attended countless performances at The Metropolitan Opera, and countless concerts of The New York Philharmonic. His travels have included visits to Mozart's original home in Salzburg, Austria, as well as a performance of The Magic Flute in Stockholm. Jim is also a highly experienced financial manager and advisor with over 20 years in High Yield, Bank Loan, Private Lending, and overall Fixed Income asset management.
